When Rhett turned two we had his birthday party at Gymboree. I remember him crying and saying "more party, more party!" when we took him to the car to go home that day. We still laugh about him saying that. :) So I guess this was his ideal weekend: he got to attend three birthday parties!

I wish I would have found cousin Jeryn for this picture, but I was lucky to even get these four to be still for the shot! Alexee told me the night before the party that she wanted to wear her yellow dress with chicks on it to Jaiden's party. She likes to dress up! She also wanted me to paint her fingernails red and she said she wanted to show them to Jaiden. :)
The second party was for one of R's good buddies from his class. It was held at a local gymnastics center which has really fun parties, but Lane took R to this one and I forgot to send the camera with them.

Here's Rhett at the all-boys table. Their table was MUCH louder and messier than the other (all-girl) tables. This little boy to R's right spilled not one but two cups of fruit punch--ha! Here he is wiping it up (or spreading it around to make a bigger mess--not sure which). Rhett took charge and ran to alert the hosting moms that they needed more napkins over at his table! :)
Alexee likes to load all her Fisher Price Little People in the cart and drive them around. She played this for a long time on Friday. They wouldn't all fit in the cart so she put some in the school bus and asked me to drive them to school. :)
I took a bin of Rhett's old PJs out of the top of the closet and went through it to find some things that would fit Crosby. It brought back a lot of memories--it seems like just a few weeks ago that R was wearing the 12-18 month pajamas. I could clearly recall him wearing everything I pulled out of the bin. How is he turning six!?
We have a few jonquils blooming in our front flower bed, and Alexee wanted to pick one and put it in a vase. She likes flowers, just like me! (Sadly, I don't think any of my tulips came up--I need to plant fresh bulbs this fall.) Isn't this bloom so pretty and cheerful?
After school Rhett wanted to get a milkshake at Sonic. Alexee wanted to go somewhere different. I don't think Crosby cared. Alexee was obviously very mad and said she did NOT want anything. So we ordered Rhett's Oreo blast and took it home...and of course she then decided she really really wanted some of it. Ahhhh!
Last week I did this hair bow holder for a friend who needed a baby shower gift. She gave me the baby's initial ('L' for Lilli) and nursery colors--hot pink with green and zebra accents. I love doing these...I think they're so fun, especially choosing all the coordinating ribbons. Lane's parents came to visit us yesterday afternoon. They arrived in time for Bobba to pick Rhett up at school, which R had requested yesterday morning. Alexee was asleep when they got here, so Crosby took the opportunity to show his cute tricks with no distractions. He seemed to feel a LOT better yesterday. He crawled all over the living room and stopped often to see if we were watching. :) When Alexee woke up and Rhett got home, Bobba played outside with them while Grammy and Crosby played inside and I went out to run a few errands. Then Lane and I had an early dinner date at Outback--always a treat! Thanks for spending the afternoon with us, Bob & Rose Mary!
We've had beautiful weather this weekend. These pictures were made Friday after school (R is wearing PJs because it was PJ day at school). Crosby took his first outside ride in the wagon and seemed to like it! Loving these warm days--hope they're here to stay!
This afternoon I took Rhett to the Upward Basketball banquet. They introduced each team and showed their team picture on the screen, and they had a magician that did a really neat show that presented the Gospel to the kids. On the way home I asked Rhett what he thought about the magician, and he said, "He wasn't just there for the purpose of doing magic tricks. He was there to tell people about God." :) I'm glad he was listening.

R was sitting several rows in front of me with his team, but I wish I could have seen his face during the last magic trick. It involved locking a guy in a big box and throwing the key out into the audience. R has always been fascinated with locks and keys, so I knew he would like this one.
At the end of the program, the coaches gave each team member a gift--a fun basketball goal/ball for their door. I like this little boy's reaction--he was so excited!
We appreciate "Coach" for dedicating his time to our team this season. It has been a good experience for Rhett. Now we have a short break before soccer season starts!
Rhett wanted to have his 6th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's this year. We had his party yesterday, although his birthday is still a week and a half away. The boys from his kindergarten class, a few of his other buddies outside of school and his cousins Jaiden and Jeryn celebrated with us. I was sad for him because he did not feel well at all yesterday--he was actually running a fever due to an ear infection and he didn't have much of an appetite. He said he still had fun though, and I'm so glad. Here is a birthday party album.
I tore this recipe out of a magazine a while back and finally remembered to buy bagels last time I went to the store. I knew the kids wouldn't eat the things it actually called for (tuna salad, tomatoes, olives, etc.), but the idea seemed fun. We modified ours to be a peanut butter bagel snake and used raisins, goldfish, blueberries, strawberries and wafers to decorate. 
Rhett liked using a small slice of strawberry to make "venom" coming out of his mouth (left side in front of the raisin eyes). The wafers and other extra stuff around the plate were supposed to be rocks, he said. :)

Rhett actually started running a fever last night (102.3) and didn't go to school today. He's had a bad cough for a few days, so hopefully he's over most of the illness. He only had 99.4 last time I checked today, and he's resting and hoping to feel better for pajama day at school tomorrow! It feels like it's nearly impossible to keep three kids completely well!
This has been a fun week so far for the kids--they are celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday at their schools. On Monday, Alexee came home wearing this elephant hat for Horton Hears a Who.
When I picked Rhett up yesterday, he was wearing this great hat and had his face painted! They ate green eggs and ham for a snack, and they were supposed to wear stripes, polka dots or bright colors. Today is crazy sock day, tomorrow is hat day and Friday is PJ day. 
Yesterday morning was Crosby's procedure to get tubes in his ears. He did just fine. It was quick and easy, and I'm thankful that it went well. I'd been warned that he would cry when he woke up from the anesthesia, but it was still hard to see because he was so upset and disoriented. I'm just not used to him ever crying! He cried all the way home and was fussy until I fed him a little bit of breakfast and got him down for a nap. He woke up from his nap in a great mood and seemed to be back to his normal, sweet and happy self. Hopefully no more ear infections for him! Lane was able to go into work a little bit late, so he took Rhett to school and kept Alexee while I took Crosby for his appointment.
