Cinnamon/Sugar Muffins

This morning I made cinnamon/sugar muffins for breakfast.  They are easy and delicious (maybe I've posted this before?):  Make 24 cupcakes using a yellow cake mix.  While still warm, dip them in melted butter and then in a cinnamon/sugar mixture.  (Best served warm!)
We also went to the library this morning:
Rhett loves to do the self-check out so he can scan all the items into the computer.  He also had a lovely assistant today.  :)
We played in the back yard after dinner.  We played beach ball and also let Bogart play fetch with a tennis ball.
How I love these sweet faces!

C wanted us to try on these hats tonight-ha!  :)

Museum with Candy's Family

I was so happy to get to meet up with my friend, Candy, and her family in Hot Springs yesterday.  The kids and I went to Lane's parents' place for lunch then Rose Mary went to the museum with us.  It was wonderful to have her along to help me keep an eye on the kids--they always run in three different directions!  I wish we could have visited with them longer, and I also wish I'd taken a picture of all six of the kids together (Candy's kids are 10, 6 & 3 so they're close to ours at 8, 5 & 3...just one of the many ways our lives are similar!).

One of the things the kids did at the museum was to build NanoBots.  Rhett filled out the form to go along with his.  "Propellabot's" job is to fly around and use its eye to spy.  Though invisible, it is the size of a human head, controlled by a computer and powered by an A5X chip.  I had to ask him what an A5X chip was, and he told me it's what my iPhone uses for high-quality graphics display, etc.  Guess I learned something!

Alexee & Grammy enjoyed the animation station.  You could draw pictures in each frame of the paper and then put it in a machine to watch your animated "movie".  It was really neat.  Alexee spent a lot of time on this project--she loves to draw.
I think I need to go to Home Depot and buy pegboard and pipe.  Crosby had the best time working on this and rolling marbles through the piping.  It kept him entertained for a long time.

I'm mad at myself for not taking a picture of our girls together!  (Candy, did you happen to snap one?)  We did have Rhett take a quick picture of us.  I wish we lived in the same town--I think we'd have so much fun together!  Hope to see y'all again sometime soon!

Zoo & Baseball

Last weekend was fun.  Lane didn't work Saturday or Sunday, so we took the kids to the zoo Saturday morning.  Saturday night I went to dinner with Ali and Lianne to celebrate Lianne's birthday.  We ate at Cantina Laredo and had a great time catching up (I never seem to remember to take pictures when the kids aren't around)!

At the zoo:
We always like looking at the penguins.
The otters are really playful and cute.
Crosby touched a milk snake.  I tried, but couldn't make myself do it.
They love riding the carousel.
We attended one of the zoo shows, which we'd never done before.  They brought out several animals, including a bald eagle and an owl.
We hung out at home Sunday after church, then that evening we went downtown for the Travelers baseball game.  It was hot, but our seats were in the shade so it wasn't too bad.  The kids ate pizza and cotton candy and drank Fanta, then they were kind-of ready to move on. At least Crosby and Alexee were.  Rhett did watch the game and kept track of the score.  We left early, but I thought it was a fun night out!

Memorial Day at Grandparents', by Rhett

I took my camera and tripod to my grandparents' house last weekend, and I was ready to use it.  I decided to take some group pictures for Memorial Day.
Crosby was not in this picture because he was behind the camera trying to make us laugh.
Mo found these four kittens in her barn, and we played with them all weekend. They were a lot of fun!
The calico was Alexee's favorite!
This one was cute. He got sleepy and fell asleep in the grass!
I was sitting on the basketball when the calico decided to play with it.
The calico was playing with Alexee's shoe. We called her "CC" for Calico Cat.
We grouped them together so they could have a kitten family reunion.
This is the kitten Jaiden called White Tiger.
