April 7th was the Intermediate School production of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Rhett got involved in drama club last year and had been looking forward to trying out for the play this year. He got the role of the Cowardly Lion, and he had so much fun! Wizard of Oz has always been one of my favorites, so I was very excited to hear that this was what the kids would be doing! I loved having the opportunity to help some other moms with a few of the sets/props for the show, too. It reminded me of when I took the kids to see If You Give a Pig a Pancake several years ago, and I thought then how fun it would be to work on those sets. :)

These were fun projects! We finished just in time for the paint to dry before the sets had to be moved to the high school stage.
Rhett's costume was very fuzzy and HOT! But it was really cute!
I was SO thankful that my Dad was willing to take on the task of "Gizmo" builder. The play needed a machine/gizmo for the Wizard to use when giving brains, heart, courage and a trip home. Dad put together this cool wooden box that fit over a rolling shop cart...it had a bicycle tire, tubes, pipes, handles, levers, etc. It looked great! He even delivered it right to the school for us. Rhett helped him unload it and roll it inside!
