School started and things got busy in a hurry around here. We're already four weeks into the school year, which is hard to believe! Rhett is doing Math Club, group Bible study, K-Life and fall Tennis Academy. Alexee is doing Volleyball, Basketball, Drama Club, Book Club, and Medical Club. Crosby is doing Flag Football, and he and Alexee were both enrolled in gymnastics but football and basketball practices got booked at the exact same time so we've had to quit going to gymnastics for now. Anyway, here is a quick update of some things that have been going on here:
A picture from a recent Sunday morning before church.
On 8/27 my Dad came up for the day to help Lane pour the concrete base for the kids' basketball goal. It was very hot, there were horse flies buzzing around them, and they hit solid rock about 2' down, but they got the job done. We were very appreciative of Dad's help, and the boys liked helping mix the concrete.
Alexee auditioned for 4th-6th Grade Drama Club on 9/1. The girls' audition piece was Sally's rant from It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. She received a letter at school on 9/2 stating that she had been chosen to participate in Drama Club, and she was so excited!
Lane's birthday was 8/31. We went out to dinner that night, then had strawberry cake at home. Happy Birthday, L! We love you!
My sister's family stayed with us on 9/3 (Labor Day Weekend). My parents drove up for the evening too, and we had fun eating outside and watching the kids swim. It was great to have them here, and so fun to get to hold my sweet nephew (1 month old then).
loving their cousin time!
Baby picture overload here...but we are so crazy about him! He is such a blessing. And he smiled at me A LOT, which made my day! :) Can't wait to hold him again.
This sweet boy got plenty of attention. He was probably tired of us!
Sunday, 9/4/16
Monday night we went to eat at Joe's Crab Shack. It was a pretty evening walking by the lake.
We had a beautiful double rainbow one evening.
Below:--Alexee's first volleyball practice of the season. Looking forward to a fun season!
--I packed away a keepsake box of her princess/baby girl books. She read this little Disney princess series a million times! It makes me sad that she has outgrown them.
--Rhett has an agri class this first 6 weeks of school, and he had a test last week over the parts of a cow and a pig. He's great at memorizing things, but for some reason this seemed overwhelming to him at first. He studied hard and made 100%.
I'm volunteering in the library at C's school some this year, so it was fun to work there then have lunch with this cutie last Wednesday! He's great about doing his nightly reading time with no complaints. He likes for me to listen to him read, especially Marvel stories. :)
I'm thankful every day that I get to be Mom to these precious kids!
