We always look forward to time with our Texas friends! (2014, 2015) We are so happy they are willing to make the long drive to see us! They live about an hour apart in the Dallas area, so they are able to travel together. They came up 8/7-8/10, and it was great to be together again. It's still hard to believe that all our families left Little Rock three years in a row, 2013-2015. The kids are growing up so fast, and I'm really thankful that we stay in touch.
The forecast did not look promising at all at first, but the rain moved out and we had very nice (cooler!) weather while they were here. So Monday we decided to go to Silver Dollar City and do the Marvel Cave tour. Our cave guide was very theatrical and managed to scare some of our kids before the tour even began, but other than that it was a fun activity.
We also rode some rides after the tour.
End of Summer 2016
The girls are going into 3rd and 4th grade, Crosby into 2nd, and the big boys into 7th...which just does not seem possible. Weren't we all just meeting at the park to let the kids play after picking them up from pre-school!?
Lane was off on Tuesday so he took the big boys to lunch and a movie while the girls plus Crosby had lunch at The Keeter Center. It was a fun day!

That evening the kids went swimming and we ate dinner at home.
Hopefully we won't have to wait a year to see them again. Maybe we can travel to TX during one of our school breaks. It has been such a fun summer, and spending time with these special friends was a great way to end it.
