Tonight was a big night for Rhett...preschool graduation. This was a neat milestone for him. He's really enjoyed his time at this school. He's had great teachers and made some good friends.
The classes performed a super cute program based on Mother Goose nursery rhymes. Rhett was one of the king's men in the Humpty-Dumpty portion of the show! :)
He's in the back row, just to the right of the back-end of the sheep.

Thankfully no one was hurt
On Tuesday I made a lemon bundt cake because my Grandparents were coming by. Nothing fancy, but just something sweet to offer to our company.
Fast forward to today. I was in the bedroom holding Crosby, trying to get him to fall asleep in my arms, and talking to Mary Katherine on the phone. Bogart was barking like crazy at the guys in the yard delivering mulch. Then I heard an even bigger noise...glass breaking. My first thought was that Bogart had knocked something over because of his anxiety about the people outside. But when I looked around the corner, there was Alexee in the kitchen, surrounded by a shattered cake stand lid. She was trying to help herself to a piece of "take" as she called it. I obviously ended my phone conversation (sorry, MK) and started sweeping. It had shattered into a million pieces. I'm sure we'll discover little pieces of glass for days to come.
The stool she'd moved from the bathroom:
The half-eaten cake, missing its lid:
A portion of the glass-covered floor and the sad cake lid:
As my post title says, thankfully no one was hurt!!

Bird update and artwork
After giving the new bluebird family what we hoped was adequate time to build a nest, we took a peek inside. He got a screwdriver from the garage and I held the chair for him to stand on:
And here's what we found! Dad says bluebirds almost always lay five eggs, so we're going to check back in a few days.
Rhett drew this picture on the dry-erase board. He said it was the two of us holding hands. :) I love the belly-buttons!
Close-up:
Then he decided to practice the alphabet. I plan to tell him to "make your papers neat" each day of school, just like my parents did (along with "do good in math!")!

Mother's Day
Rhett made this yummy breakfast for me on Mother's Day (with a little help from Lane). It was cute because a few days before he casually asked, "Momma, what kinds of things do you usually eat for breakfast?" He'd told me he had a surprise for me, but he was trying not to let me figure it out. What a nice treat!
Alexee made this handprint bag in her MDO class. They gave it to me Monday when we went to school. Those little hands sure get into a lot of trouble, but they sure are sweet!
And Crosby didn't make a Mother's Day craft this year, but I wanted to include a picture of him! :)
I'm grateful for my three sweet children!

Happy Mothers' Day
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Mother-in-law. I am thankful for each of them on Mothers' Day...thankful for the blessing and example they are to me and to our kids. We love you all!
My Grandmother (or "Mo Nina" as the kids call her)...she loves her Great-Grandchildren!
My Mother-in-law, Rose Mary, and the kids. These next three pictures were made today when Rose Mary came up to watch Rhett and Alexee while I went to a baby shower. The kids always love for her to come to visit.
Rose Mary and her "babies", Lane and Lance. Lance and his son Luke came to visit today, too. The guys went to see the new Star Trek movie this afternoon. I was glad Lane had someone to go see it with because he's been really excited about the movie. (And I was glad I didn't have to go see it!) :)
We're missing one Garner Grandchild in the photo below...Katie was out of town today. Luke was so sweet to play with Rhett and Alexee while he was here. I think Luke was Rhett's age when Lane and I first started dating, and now he's so grown up!

Shower for Melody
Today I went to a baby shower for my sweet friend, Melody, from Bible Study. She is expecting baby Gray in just a few weeks. She has been on bedrest for a looong time, but her doctor allowed her to get out of the house for a shower and luncheon in her honor today! It was great to see her, visit with other friends and enjoy yummy food!

I loved the hydrangeas and roses that Connie used to decorate the table--they were gorgeous!
I made one of the tea recipes that I mentioned in a recent post. Here's the recipe if you're interested...the ladies seemed to like it. 1 pkg. fresh mint
1 heaping cup Splenda
2 Crystal Light lemonade cups
Bring a little over half of the water to a full boil. Remove from heat. Stir in Splenda, mint and tea bags. Cover and let sit a minimum of 2 hours. Remove tea bags (after squeezing them) and mint sprigs. Transfer to pitcher. Mix with Crystal Light and remaining water. Shake/stir, refrigerate and enjoy!

Nap in the Baby Bjorn
I just love how sweet he looks asleep in his little "pouch", the Baby Bjorn. He likes to sleep with his hand up beside his face. The first two children didn't like the Bjorn, but so far, I think C might be okay with it. This was a couple nights ago when I was attempting to cook dinner (not a fun or easy task these days). Alexee was taking off her diaper in the kitchen and Rhett was climbing on the cabinets (photos below), but C was sleeping peacefully.
