Class Parties & Holiday Baking

Last Thursday was Alexee's class party.  They did a craft and photos in a photo booth, played a game, had a snack, made Christmas cards for family members and opened a gift from their wonderful teacher.   It was a fun and busy hour!

Her class wrote letters to Santa one day too.  I thought hers was so cute.

Crosby brought us this beautiful gift that he made at school--such a treasure!  The ornaments that the kids make are my very favorites.

He even decorated the wrapping with a snowman, snowflakes and a reindeer.  His class had Polar Express day on Friday--pjs, a movie and hot chocolate.

And on Friday Rhett's class had their holiday celebration.  They played several fun games and had enchiladas for lunch.  He had a great time.  

Saturday we enjoyed a morning at home by the fire, then we made peanut clusters and a gingerbread house.

R did the icing and then let A & C help add all the candy.

The kids delivered a plate of the peanut clusters to our next-door neighbor.

And now it's Christmas break, and we are SO GLAD!  They can't wait for Christmas morning.

Early Christmas in Hot Springs

We had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas a little early (as well as Bobba's birthday) last weekend with Lane's family!

Crosby's class made gingerbread houses at school on Friday, and he wanted to take his with us to show Grammy & Bobba.

We started the visit with eggnog and chocolate chip cookies-yum!

It was nice to just hang out Friday night and catch up with Lane's parents.

Saturday we opened gifts, which the kids were SO EXCITED about!  They got lots of fun things from their grandparents and Uncle Lance & Aunt Jennifer.

Saturday we went out for lunch and took a few group photos at HSCC.

(We missed seeing Luke--he still had another week at college before Christmas break.)

Thankful for this special family time!

It was chilly, but still really nice to sit on the deck and see the lake.  You can barely see them in this picture, but there were so many ducks out there that day.  Such a peaceful place.

Having fun sure is exhausting!  :)

Dinner & Lights in Little Rock

Last Friday evening we stopped in Little Rock on our way to visit Lane's parents.  We met two families at Señor Tequila for dinner, then we all went downtown to see the Christmas lights at the Capitol.  Of course we loved seeing friends, and we were happy to get to carry on our tradition of looking at the lights.

Baby Shower for Mrs. H

We loved getting to celebrate Crosby's teacher yesterday.  Her baby girl is due in January.  Of course we will miss her so much while she is away, but we are super excited for her to be a mom!

Michele did a great job entertaining the kids with shower games.  First they estimated how many toilet paper squares it would take to reach around the teachers's tummy.  

 I think they liked having permission to unroll as much toilet paper as they wanted!

Next the kids offered baby name suggestions.  "Christmas Tree" definitely has my vote!

She held up this bottle brush and asked if anyone knew what it was for.  Someone guessed it was a back scratcher for the baby.  :)

We also had pink cupcakes and punch and did a class painting for her as a keepsake.  The kids added their thumbprints for the water spraying from the elephant's trunk (Crosby's idea, which I loved!) and signed the back of the canvas.

So thankful for Crosby's wonderful teacher and precious Kindergarten friends.  He loves going to school!  We also got to meet the long-term substitute that will teach while Mrs. H is out for maternity leave.  She spent the day with the class and attended the baby shower, so it was great to get to know her.
