I just love how sweet he looks asleep in his little "pouch", the Baby Bjorn. He likes to sleep with his hand up beside his face. The first two children didn't like the Bjorn, but so far, I think C might be okay with it. This was a couple nights ago when I was attempting to cook dinner (not a fun or easy task these days). Alexee was taking off her diaper in the kitchen and Rhett was climbing on the cabinets (photos below), but C was sleeping peacefully. 
This morning was the Mothers' Day Art Show at the kids' MDO program. We finally got everyone ready and went to stroll through the halls of the school and look at their work.

This was the gift that R made for me in his class. The little wooden box has his fingerprints on the top--they're made into flowers. Inside was a bead bracelet that he made. So sweet! I put it on as soon as we got to the car. :) I liked his answers on the Mom info sheet. Last year he said that my favorite restaurant was Pizza Hut. I guess I've developed more of a love for McAlister's this year.
Our neighbor invited R over to play this afternoon. He wanted to wait on the front steps for Will and Mrs. Lisa to walk over to get him. Alexee waited with him--she didn't realize that she had to stay home for nap time. 
I noticed this little guy on the deck this afternoon and wanted to take a picture of him to show Rhett since he's not home right now. 
And a gallon of this that my friend Cameron served at Pokeno on Tuesday night--it was delicious!
Yesterday morning Ali called to see if we wanted to meet her, Maylee & Lawson at the zoo. I first said we'd pass because 1) Rhett was at MDO and 2) I'd promised myself I'd come home and ride the exercise bike since I got the exercise "ok" from my doc on Monday.
Since Rhett wasn't there, Alexee followed Lawson around and tried to do everything he did. She didn't seem to be scared of the giant grizzly on the other side of the glass!
What a whirlwind six weeks! Today I went in for my 6 week check up. I asked my doctor if he'd mind me taking his picture with Crosby so I could put it in his baby book. What a blessing to have him deliver two of our three children!
I haven't posted pictures of C in a few days, so here are some I snapped today in a cute "sweet pea" onesie that he received as a gift. The three peas in the pod remind me of Rhett, Alexee and Crosby together! :)
On Saturday, it rained and rained and rained some more! Good thing the kids went to the Friday toad race. Rhett spent the night with Aunt Kala Friday night, and I met them Saturday morning to pick him up. He'd had such a good time, but I think he was exhausted!
It's always good to have the Grandparents visit! L's parents came on Saturday and spent the afternoon. Lane and I even had a chance to sneak away for a quiet lunch just the two of us--a nice treat! We had Mexican food at Cantina Laredo. 
Grammy loves to snuggle with him, too.
Mom brought us a box of fresh local berries last week when she was here. They have a great flavor. We had strawberry shortcake while Bob & Rose Mary were here.
Sunday afternoon Rhett re-colored his toad t-shirt. He and Jaiden had colored them Friday night, but the marker washed out. Hopefully Sharpie markers will stay in. It was good to see that R can color in the lines when he wants to. He usually just scribbles (which frustrates me), but he worked so hard on his t-shirt and did a great job.
He wanted his picture made wearing the final product.
And finally, Alexee had a big first-time accomplishment on Sunday afternoon...not just pee-pee in the toilet! She'd told me to "go away", so I waited outside the bathroom door. Soon she came running out to tell me what she'd done. We called Rhett in to celebrate and then called Lane at the office (after grabbing the camera, of course).
A BIG thank you to my sister Micaela and her family for inviting Rhett to the Toad Suck Daze toad race this evening!!! And thank you to Mic for taking all these great photos of the event! I should have her write this post since she was there, but I'll try to record what she told me over the phone.
Mic said R griped about standing in line to check-in, but judging by his smile, it must have been worth the wait:

Thank you to M's friend Leslie for finding two toads for R & J to race!!! I've never seen a toad in our yard, so we would have been in trouble without toad-hunting help.

I think this was where the announcer asked him the name of his toad. I guess it caught him off guard since he hadn't named it.
Jaiden apparently overcame her fear of the toad because here they are at the starting line.
I overheard Rhett talking to himself earlier this week (which he does a lot) after I told him he'd been invited to participate in the event. He said quietly, "What if I don't win the race?"

I got a call from my sister's cell phone not long after race time. It was Rhett calling, and he said, "Momma, I WON FIRST PRIZE, and I even got a ribbon!!!!" Has this been his lucky week, or what...first the bluebird, now this. :) His little voice was so cute telling me the good news. I was so happy for him! Mic said that most of the toads hopped out of bounds and went every direction, but his nameless toad made three giant, determined leaps straight to the finish line!

Today we met my friend, Darcy, and her three kiddos at the park. Darcy and I met the first day of our Kindergarten year and were best friends all through school. She and her family recently moved to our town, which was so exciting for me! It's crazy to me to think about us being in school together, doing our algebra together, "cruising" town when we were 16, spending the night at each others' houses, going on family vacations...and now we're both married with three kids each...where did the years go!?
I think Rhett looks just like Lane in this picture--I wish I had a digital version of a particular picture of Lane that I'm thinking about...one when he was probably about this age at the Pink Tomato Festival in his home town.
