On Wednesday the 1st graders had All Stars Reading Day. The kids were encouraged to wear a sports jersey (which also tied in with Red Ribbon Week) and bring a pillow and a stuffed animal for a reading buddy.
Rhett was excited about the idea of getting to go to every 1st grade classroom for a different activity, but he said his favorite was his own classroom where they got to just relax on their pillows and read.
R's classroom. He thought it was cool that all the tables and chairs had been cleared out for the day.

Some of my favorite momma moments were when the kids greeted me at one time or another while at school or a ballgame or something. As an elementary child, they would do something like R did you... grin and wave. As a high schooler, they might walk up to you and hug you in front of all their friends...or in Tyler's case, give you a big "noogie". Ha!
What a cute idea. I wonder what my high schoolers would do if I moved out the tables and made them lie on the floor and draw?
