The theme days were fun for the kids:
Monday
"Give Drugs the Boot Day" (wear boots)
"Give Drugs the Boot Day" (wear boots)
Wednesday"Team Up Against Drugs Day" (wear jersey or sports shirt, he wanted to wear his soccer uniform.)
According to the school nurse, Rhett will likely come home today wearing red AND black. As in a black eye. I missed two calls from the nurse while I was trying to get Alexee to take a nap, but luckily she reached Lane. Rhett and another child collided at recess and R has a big bruise under his eye. Lane talked to him on the phone though and asked him if he wanted to come home or stay at school, and he wanted to stay. The nurse told Lane he was just fine and whatever we wanted to do was okay.*Update*
Ouch!

What cute ideas for themed days for that week! It is sad that they have to address it in elementary, but on the other hand, it's good for kids to know early to "give drugs the boot". :) Sorry about his black eye, poor guy. He sounds tough though.
We had some pretty fun themes this week, too. Red Ribbon week is almost as fun at Spirit Week!
Logan had his first black eye a couple of weeks ago. He was playing on the squeeze chute at the barn and pushed a lever that came back and whacked him on his cheekbone. He hasn't climbed on the chute again.
That's some shiner!!! He'll be glad you documented that for him.
So sorry about Rhett's black eye. Maybe he can be a pirate for Halloween and wear a patch over it?
