Mom recently reminded me of a project we did in our church class a loooong time ago: leaf place mats using pretty fall leaves and wax paper. A few days ago Alexee and Crosby collected a pile of leaves from the back yard and we made a few mats.
Crosby's job was to continue collecting leaves and adding them to the pile, a job he seemed to enjoy.
Inspired by the sunflowers at the pumpkin patch last week, Alexee wanted to make a flower from these leaves.
While all little fingers were clear from the table, I ironed (low-med heat) the two sheets of wax paper together to seal the art inside. (Note: you need some room around the border, otherwise it won't seal...this happened on our second mat.)
